  • A quiet evening at the Two Harbors harbor entrance, untll I saw lightning on the horizon. This 30 second exposure captured the next bolt. Then, it was time to go, as thunder sounded directly overhead.

  • The Edna G. is a retired tugboat at Two Habors, Minnesota. It remains as a legacy of the days before iron ore freighters had bow thrusters that allow them to dock without the aid of a tug.

  • At Colvill Park near Red Wing, MN. The eagles were hunkered down in the trees far off. Then I heard a whistle blow and dashed to the tracks!

  • I had previously photographed this barn in the subdued colors of spring. On this return visit, I found it surrounded with spectacular fall color. A calm morning to give a clear reflection was a bonus.

  • The end of the line for this old farmstead, due to be demolished soon.  On a winter landscape under a formless sky, there is not much of it left. A half mile of corn field behind the house. By this time next year it will all be corn field.

  • The "Beaver House" has been a landmark in Grand Marais since 1964. After the original owner died, it was closed for a few years. It reopened in 2016 after being acquired from the estate by a son of the original owner. The fisherman's secret is the "Beaver Flick" lure, made and sold right here.
