Flood Stage, Jay Cooke State Park

The St. Louis River was running high due to heavy rains. Gates at the Thomson Dam were opened to lower upstream reservoirs. I hiked the riverbanks looking for patterns of flow in this turbulent, boulder-strewn torrent. Slow exposures reveal patterns that are not easily visible in real time.
